Hours Of Service Arguments And Electronic Logs

The appeals court will hear arguments on the new HOS or hours of service rules. We need to people to keep fighting and stop this ridiculous overreach of government and do-gooder groups trying to run our lives yet again. It is not enough that we already have enough regulations to choke a mule, they want us to take a mandatory 30 minute break after 8 hours. I say, “Where the hell do you think we will park?”

This kind of garbage has to stop. There is not enough parking as it is,let alone some stupid mandatory break time built in. Do we park on the side of the road? No, then we all get fired and/or ticketed. Stupid rule.

American Trucking Associations and a coalition of public interest advocates are expected to tell a federal court on Friday to strike down portions of the latest changes to federal hours-of-service rules.

I worked at Werner and I can say that the qualcoms we had on board were nice for some things, but when abused by the company in harassment then it is not so good. I cannot count how many times I would get beeped for ETA on my load or why are you stopped messages. That was bull crap and it is one of the main reasons why I left that company. Maybe the MATS folks can get some dialogue going with the big carriers, but for now I will keep my paper logs and to hell with the qualcoms in my truck.
